Western Health and Social Services Board

The Western Board serves a population of over 288,000 people who live in the District Council areas of Limavady, Derry, Fermanagh, Strabane and Omagh. Our role is to identify health and social care needs and to ensure that services are provided to meet these needs.

The Board ensures the active and open participation of local people and communities in the development, design and commissioning of services. The Board works in partnership with local communities to increase their involvement in improving people's health and reducing social exclusion.

In promoting a better public understanding of its role the Board ensures clear expectations of what it should deliver to the residents of the West.
