We have been providing one to one cancer counselling as part of our overall cancer programme since 1995.
Counsellors see both men and women who have received a cancer diagnosis and are also available to meet with family members.
background to the counselling
Recent years have seen the widespread acceptance that often people who have been given a cancer diagnosis are more able to cope with treatments and changes to their lives with the support of a counsellor.
We set up our cancer counselling service to help:
- those who have been diagnosed, and
- those who have been affected by a diagnosis of a family member or friend
How the service operates
The cancer counselling service covers the North West region including:
- Derry
- Donegal
- Omagh
- Coleraine
There is no charge for the service but there may be a waiting time between referral and your first appointment. Each member of our team has completed a Certificate in Cancer Counselling.
