Depression is living in a body that fights to survive.

This 6-week programme is designed to support women who may be experiencing depression or underlying anxiety.

The programme aims to teach coping skills which women affected by depression or anxiety can use to help deal with their symptoms that affect them personally.

What will the programme be like?

The course is based on a Derry Well Women approach and is delivered by a qualified health worker. Over the six weeks participants will look at what depression and anxiety is. The course examines:

  • the different types of depression
  • how they affect the individual
  • what the warning signs are
  • how to cope with these

You will also be given information regarding complementary therapies, diet and sleep. The facilitator will also discuss the use of prescribed drugs.
